International Shipping Options

If you live in the United States then you will have no problem buying any of the items shown on this site. However, if you live outside the United States then you will find that the sites linked to might or might not ship to your location, depending on the item you want.

I know that many of the people who come to this site do not live in the United States and are every bit as passionate about Harry Potter as I am. Therefore, I have done my best to help you buy just about anything you find on this site, no matter where you live.

First, I will explain how you can tell if items found on Amazon, eBay, or Etsy can be shipped to your country. Next, I will discuss another option you have of shipping your purchase to a company located within the USA that will forward your purchase to you for a fee, even if the products you buy cannot be shipped internationally.

Please be aware that websites change over time so the information or images below might not match what you see on each website discussed. I apologize ahead of time if this happens.

Amazon International Shipping

Amazon.com is one of my favorite online stores. You can buy almost anything there! Amazon ships items that they sell, and there are also many third-party sellers on Amazon. Not all items can be shipped internationally, but some can. Amazon has two ways that indicate international shipping - in the left sidebar and on an item's description.

Method #1 - AmazonGlobal Setting (found in the left sidebar)

Scroll down and look for the following option:

Amazon International Shipping

Put a checkmark at this option to see the items that can be shipped internationally:

Amazon International Shipping

After you check this option you will see (or you can search for) items that are eligible for international shipping. If you click on any of the Amazon links on this site then check this option you will see only the items that can be shipped internationally. Be aware, though, that there may still be limitations on the countries each item can be sent to.

Method #2 -Product Description (found on the listing for individual items)

Instead of looking at the sidebar option, seen above, you can also look at an item. I have found that there are times when an item can be shipped internationally that does not show up when you check the "International Shipping" option found in the sidebar.

Click on an item, then scroll down to the product description. Look for the shipping information to see if the item can be shipped internationally. Here is an example of what you might see:

Amazon International Shipping

Did you notice that the description says that this item is available for shipping to select countries? You will have to put the item in your cart and start the checkout process to know if the item can be sent to your desired country.

eBay International Shipping

eBay is another one of my favorite online shopping sites because they have new and used items. eBay is excellent for finding hard-to-find, discontinued, and retired items.

It is up to the sellers whether or not they will ship internationally. Fortunately, eBay makes international shipping easy for sellers within the United States by offering sellers the ability to ship to an eBay mail forwarding service. Sellers who use this option will ship their items to a hub owned and operated by eBay, then eBay will forward items to international addresses.

Unlike Amazon, there is no way to sort search results to show only items that can be shipped internationally. You will need to look at each item you are interested in to see that item's shipping options.

Delivery Options (found under the the "buy" button section)

Look just below the purchase options at the top of a listing to see if an item can be shipped worldwide:

eBay International Shipping

You might notice that the shipping information here is really small and hard to see. Don't worry, there is another section with even more details about worldwide shipping.

Scroll down until you get to the "Description" and "Shipping and payments" tabs, then click on "Shipping and payments". This will show you any excluded countries, and give you the option to choose a country and see how much shipping will cost to your chosen country:

Etsy International Shipping

Etsy is another of my favorite online stores. Etsy is full of sellers who specialize in handmade items. You can find items on Etsy that you can't find anywhere else.

Etsy is the easiest of the three sites I've discussed when it comes to finding items that ship to a specific country. You can select a specific country from the sidebar to see items that ship to that country.

Method #1 -Ship To (found in the left sidebar)

You will need to do a search before you select a country. If you click on any of the Etsy links found on this site then I have already done the searching for you and you can go ahead and select a country to see what can be shipped to you. Scroll down until you see the "Ship to" option in the left sidebar and choose a country:

Method #2 -Overview (found on the listing for individual items)

You can also see if an item can be  shipped internationally by looking at a specific item. If an item does not ship internationally then you won't see anything here. If it does, then you will see something like this:

Mail Forwarding Services

The above information was about how to have items sent to you directly from the websites you shop from. However, that isn't always an option. If you want to buy something but the seller doesn't ship to your location, you still have an option - ship your purchase to a mail forwarding service company.

Mail forwarding services are done by companies that specialize in international shipping. The way it works is this: You buy something and have it shipped to a shipping company which is located in the USA. When they receive your package they will then ship it to you for a fee.

Here is a graphic that I created of this process:

International Shopping Options

Each package forwarding company charges for their services. Some charge a monthly fee, others charge a per shipment fee, and some charge both. There might also be setup or other fees. Be sure to review the cost of each company so you are fully aware of all fees associated with using any given company.

Disclaimer: Below are several companies that forward packages to international addresses. I want to state up front that I am not endorsing any of these companies, nor have I used them. I am simply listing them as possible options to you. I encourage you to do research on a company before you use their services. Having said that, I am aware that many international buyers have happily used these services for years.
