The image below isn't of a real tattoo, but of a drawing. The drawing is of Thorin Oakenshield, the King Under the Mountain from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. It is a depiction of actor Richard Armitage who played Thorin in Peter Jackson's film adaptation of the story.

The tattoo's on Thorin's arm are representative of Dwarvish art. It is difficult to tell from the small picture below but try to look at the blackish part of Thorin's arm. There are designs there, if you can make any of them out, similar to the designs seen in the background.

The artist who drew this was amazing because the patterns on the arm are not random. They are the lyrics to "The Misty Mountain" song from the book. I can only imagine how long it took him to do this! Wow. Just, wow.
