Captain Jean-Luc Picard sat at the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise during Star Trek's 80's reboot, The Next Generation. He was the polar opposite of Captain Kirk - he was humble in his confidence, he put a great amount of thought into most of his decisions, and he rarely got the girl. But despite these differences he ran the Enterprise every bit as successfully as Kirk, and he won over a lot of fans in the process.
