In 2012 the classic game you grew up with was given a Whovian makeover. This is a must-have game for any fan of the long-running British series!
Yahtzee is a dice game that has been around for decades. Most of us are familiar with how to play - you roll five dice and try to get the most points possible based on what you rolled. Doctor Who Yahtzee is the same game you know but everything about it is 100% Doctor Who!
Everything you need to play is conveniently stored inside a TARDIS, which also doubles as the dice cup. The container looks so good you can keep it on a shelf between games.
Inside the TARDIS you will find five dice, which are unique to this version of the game. Instead of numbers, each side has the face of an enemy, along with a number. They are:
1 - Robot Mummy
2 - The Silence
3 - Weeping Angel
4 - Sontaran
5 - Dalek
I have this game and, to be honest, the dice are awesome but confusing. I don't use the dice that go with this game and prefer to use regular dice.
Also, I padded the inside of my TARDIS because I found it too loud when we shook it with dice inside. I went to my local Joanne's craft store and bought foam that has a sticky back. I cut each piece to the proper size - all four sides, the lid, and the bottom - and stuck the foam to the inside. It works perfectly! It will also protect your dice if you use the Doctor Who dice that come with the game as they rattle around inside the TARDIS.
Update: There is now a second version of Doctor Who Yahtzee. The new version has a Dalek instead of a TARDIS as the container/dice cup, and the dice have different images with numbers that are easier to see.
