Author J.R.R. Tolkien set out to create European Mythology that would have a lasting impression, but I doubt he realized just how much his writings would be embraced, generation after generation.
The tattoo seen below is a perfect example of what I mean. The tattoo is of Elvish writing that spells out the name, "Andrew." Why? Because that's the name of the person who had his arm inked.
It clearly shows this person's love of Tolkien's world and is now a permanent expression of Tolkien's influence on him.
