I've wondered once or twice if the Enterprises's food replicator perfectly creates food or if crew members sometimes feel the need to add a touch of flavor. My guess is that the replicator isn't advanced enough to know exactly how each person likes his or her food. If true, do you think there are salt and pepper shakers on board the ship?

Most of the shakers that I saw were made by a company called Westland, and their shakers have magnets that keep each pair in the proper positions. Both of the examples that you see on this page are by Westland.
